Online store - My name is Hulda, and I was born in Reykjavik, Iceland on 25 May 1969 by an 18-year-old single mother. My father was 19, and their destiny was not to be together. To make a living, my mum went with me as an infant to a farm in North-east Iceland (across the country) to work as a housekeeper, and there she met a young man, a farmer who became my father later on. I grew up with my two siblings at our parents' farm out in the country. My upbringing was mostly happy until I became 13 or 14 when I got bullied at school. Luckily I didn´t let that stop me from finding my way, and after high school, I went to Italy to study fashion design. I finished my diploma in 1993.

It was in 2013 when I started my business in Iceland located at my home, which used to be a small farm many years ago with cows and sheep and actually where I sit and design there used to be our cows. Moreover, the cows were used to heat up the house as well as milking. But now I live there with my two daughters, Silja and Birta and a cat, my first born, Alexander has moved to Reykjavik to study.

Mostly I work alone in my studio, but occasionally I get help from my friends or family when needed. Because I am the sole employee, I do almost everything. I design, make poems and proverbs, I pack the products (which I don´t produce) and send them to customers, I am a salesperson, I make ads, and I write and answer every post and so on. And that is my choice.

What makes me happy is when something good is growing, and things are moving in the right direction. What makes me the happiest is when I am writing without overthinking, just letting go. When I am with people I love meaningful conversations about life, choices and feelings, I like to dance and listen to music which is a huge part of my creation. I believe that elves exist (Huldufólk), remember my name is Hulda and I firmly believe in an afterlife.
